Line Dancing 

Available at Putney Leisure Centre only

Learn shorter, easy-to-follow repeating dance routines of a variety of styles in a fun, upbeat class set to great music with not a cowboy hat in sight (although you are welcome to wear one!).

Line dancing is a great option for anyone looking for a fun, social dance class that gives a gentler way to exercise. Best For: anyone who has some basic dance experience or has perhaps attended line/dance/fitness classes previously and wishes to return after an absence.

Learn or recap the steps and simple dances of a beginner to improvers level all set to great music in fun and friendly weekly classes. You'll make new friends and be learning a social skill that you can use at social dances anywhere to boot! Although you don't need a dance partner to join us, you won't be dancing alone; you'll be dancing with friends.

Aquafit Senior 

Available at Balham Leisure Centre and Latchmere Leisure Centre 

Our popular Aquafit classes run regularly. These classes have a wide range of benefits including:

  • less stress on your joints due to the support from the water
  • build strength in your body
  • water pressure helps put less strain on the heart by moving blood around the body
  • the impact of gravity is less in the water allowing a greater range of motion

This class is designed to improve your cardiovascular health, muscle strength/endurance, balance, mobility, range of motion, pain, social engagement, coordination, flexibility, bone health and stamina.

Falls prevention classes

Available at Balham Leisure Centre, Roehampton Sports and Fitness Centre and Putney Leisure Centre 

Fallls prevention class is designed to help older adults reduce their risk of falling and maintain their independence. Led by experienced instructors, evidence-based program combines physical exercise, education, and practical strategies to enhance balance, strength, and confidence in everyday activities.

Designed to improve risk of falls, balance, stability, core stability, mobility strength, co-ordination, flexibility, confidence of performing Everyday activities.

Boost your confidence in using the gym with the support of our friendly gym staff. The weekly session is an open gym session where you can learn how to use the machines and receive guidance on which exercises will be best for you.
