Our energy mission

We’re making small changes to create a big impact

We are sure you are all aware of the increasing costs of energy effecting individuals, families, and businesses across the country. Whilst we understand everyone is feeling the squeeze in some way, we too are not immune to this pressure. As we operate nationally, you can understand that our centres – with our pools, gyms, sports halls, and equipment – use a significant amount of energy.

Even with the government energy price cap, costs have gone up drastically. Changes we have already implemented this year have seen us reduce our gas and electric use but we need to do more!

Simply – treat our centres as if they are your own.

  • If you can please switch off lights when leaving a room or tell a member of the team if you have finished your booking early.
  • Be mindful of the time spent using sinks, showers, and other appliances e.g., hairdryers
  • Turn off air conditioning or other appliances in rooms not in use

Let one of our friendly colleagues know if you are no longer using a piece of equipment

As a Social Enterprise, Places Leisure is a non-profit organisation, giving back to our communities whatever is put in. This makes the effects of the energy crisis a particularly difficult one to navigate, but as with everyone – we are trying our best to move forward and do more with less.
